I think these days a lot of people see an explanation for almost anything as an excuse. And explanations can sometimes be excuses, but bear with me lol. They don't understand that complicated things require a clear explanation to be understood( Like cellular processes). Which is unfortunate, because a lot of times people WANT to know why certain things are the way they are( even fairly basic things), but they don't want to hear an easy to understand explanation of it even if it's backed by facts and proof. To them it's just an "excuse" or some BS. It's unfortunate, frustrating, and sometimes scary to witness.
